Late goals from Reading and Forest ends fiery game in draw

Updated: Jan 15, 2020

Late goals from Reading and Nottingham Forest ends fiery game in a 1-1 draw.

A goal from Ben Watson in the sixth minute of added time left many fans thinking that Forest had taken all three points, but a Tobias Figueiredo own goal in the seventh minute of added time meant that a point was shared between both of the teams.

The game was generally a very even game, with both teams fighting it out for the draw. Reading came the closest in the game besides the goals late on, when early in the second half Tyler Blackett, who is being watched by Trabzonspor, cut in onto his right foot and struck the far post, only for it to bounce back off.

Just a few minutes earlier however, Morrison's lack of pace allowed Lewis Grabban to surge through on goal, but Rafael managed to claw it away, before Grabban tried to lob Rafael but Liam Moore dealt with it calmly.

The draw means that Nottingham Forest drop to fifth, while Reading maintain 14th place. The two meet again in just over a weeks' time for the reverse fixture, after the game was cancelled earlier in the season.
