Hull undone by flashy Fleetwood

Hull’s unbeaten start comes to an end as they concede four to ruthless Fleetwood.

In an end-to-end first half, Fleetwood took the lead through Harvey Saunders, who drove right down the right hand side, slotting past Ingram.

Hull then equalised three minutes later, with Mallik Wilks’ deflected shot falling straight into the path of captain George Honeyman, who smashed it into the roof of the net to draw level.

In the second half Fleetwood came alive, scoring under a minute after the restart, with Harvey Saunders poaching onto Honeyman’s poor back pass, before playing it to Callum Camps who calmly finished to give the Trawlermen an early second half lead.

Twenty minutes later Saunders scored his second, when Ched Evans played a ball across the box and Saunders managed to poke home from close range.

Fleetwood nearly made it four, forcing a fantastic double save from Matt Ingram, who kept out Paddy Madden’s header and Harvey Saunders’ rebound.

Sam Stubbs then headed in his first senior goal to complete the scoring.

Fleetwood will hope to carry on this momentum to next weekend, when they face current table-toppers Lincoln, who have won their first four games.
